I meant to write this post a couple weeks ago but I ended up getting sick and spent the last week working on some much needed self-care. Needless to say, I am finally feeling better and feel like myself again! I decided to make a list of things I really want to improve on this year. I don’t know about you, but a new year always makes me feel refreshed and it’s a great opportunity to make some changes and new goals in your life. Here are mine:
*Make eating healthy a priority rather than an option.
This one is definitely my top goal. I’m doing better, but still not where I want to be with this. I need to eat more protein and stop reaching for unhealthy processed snacks. This week I plan on cleaning out my entire fridge/cupboards and throw out everything bad and stocking up with healthy foods that will benefit me. I feel like this will be the only way to force me into this change because if it’s in front of me, I’m going to eat it!! I’ve recently been eating more avocado toast and love it so I plan on eating this more often. This will be a challenge but I’m determined to eat more healthy and feel more healthy.
*Start working out again.
When I used to workout, I looked and felt sooooo good. I was more motivated, happy, and confident. I need/want to get back into working out again. My mom has a gym membership and I plan on getting one so we can workout together.
*Improving my marriage
This one is extremely important to me. We have a good marriage, don’t get me wrong. I’m a firm believer that there is always room for growth and improvement no matter what is going on in your life. Learning to be more patient is something we both need to improve on in our marriage. We are both equally stubborn. 😉 We will be celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary in August and the main thing I’ve learned is that time really does fly by. Sounds cliche, but it’s so true. Cherish every moment you have with your loved ones and remember why you married them in the first place. ❤
*Enjoy the moments without my phone
Obviously this one will be a big challenge since a lot of us are on our phones pretty much constantly. I’m up for the challenge though! It’s crazy how mindlessly scrolling instagram or facebook goes by so fast and before you know it it’s already been an hour. This has definitely affected my marriage as well. My husband is rarely on his phone while I’m on mine a lot. I’m making it my mission to put my phone upstairs and to spend evenings with my little family. We’ve already done this and it felt amazing to not have my phone right next to me.
*Put the laundry away straight from the dryer
Lol this one is so random but I need to freaking do this you guys. I am so bad at waiting to put laundry away and I hate it. Last night was the first time in a loooooong time I put all the clothes away right from the dryer and it made me feel so accomplished. It’s truly the little things. I am determined to keep this up and not let my poor husband go without underwear. #reallifeprobs!
Those are my top 5 goals that I hope to achieve! I always love reading other’s goals so let me know yours below! Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
